Pennsylvanians will have to look at new ID’s other than driver’s license for entering into federal buildings or board planes for longer time period.
The new law will be enforced from January 2017, to be followed up by another law in 2018 that will restrict entry of current state license holders for boarding commercial flights.
This step is being taken in the right direction to make identification system more secure & foolproof to prevent any such terror attacks like 9/11 happening in the future and set REAL ID Act for the more secure identification process. It will be interesting to see how and when the law gets to see the daylight since a 2012 Pennsylvania law bars the state from participating in any such REAL ID Act.
